Family Coding Event! In-Person
Rising 2nd - 5th grade students are invited to pair up with a caregiver and participate in an "Hour of Code" introduction to coding! During this special event, guardian-child pairs will create a video game using the Scratch programming language. Scratch is a block based programming language created by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). No prior coding experience needed. Participants must either bring their own device such as a laptop, Chromebook, or tablet, or reserve a library device for the event (first come, first served). Phones will *not* work. Personal devices must be able to connect to library WiFi.
*Please call 704-868-2164, Ext. 5525 or email Julie Watkins at julie.watkins@gastongov.com to reserve a library device. A limited number of devices are available.
