Jean Laffite Revealed: An Afternoon with Ashley Oliphant and Beth Yarbrough In-Person

Local authors Dr. Ashley Oliphant and Beth Yarbrough have proven that the pirate Jean Laffite faked his death in the 1820s, hid for a time in Cuba and then re-entered the United States using the alias Lorenzo Ferrer, settling first in Mississippi for the Cotton Boom and then Lincolnton, North Carolina. They even discovered his sword in the Freemason lodge he helped to found in 1852. Come hear about their research journey as they share how they unraveled the case.  The authors will sell and sign copies of their book before and after the program.

The program is free.  REGISTRATION IS NO LONGER REQUIRED but if you would like to register go to the Calendar of Events at http://gastonlibrary.org/events/calendar/.  All library programs are subject to change.
